In March 2018 the Bangalore Queer Film Festival (BQFF) will enter its ninth year.

BQFF is an annual event full of queer films from the world over, photo exhibitions, art exhibitions, performances and panel discussions. Over the years, BQFF has become an entrenched part of the cultural landscape of Bangalore. The festival serves as a space for LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) concerns to be voiced through the medium of moving image. At BQFF, we are firmly interested in both straightforward LGBT films and wildly queer and radical films.

BQFF 2018 is now open for submissions!

We invite you to send us your short and full-length features, short and long documentaries, animation and experimental films. Please send us your entries and tell your friends, lovers, family and colleagues who might want to send in theirs.

The deadline for submission is January 15th, 2018. The final schedule of films will be released in the first week of February 2018.

As always, the BQFF is a free-entry festival which pushes for maximum participation. We make this possible by raising funds from the larger LGBT community as well as our allies and supporters, and we’ve come this far simply because of the support we’ve received from you over the years.

BQFF is run by volunteers, but on the three days of the festival, we need more volunteers to help us ensure the event runs smoothly. Sign up for the newsletter below and keep an eye out here for the call for Volunteers. (Mostly likely in January 2018.)
